About BinPapa
BinPapa helps people find, inspect and share saved EEPROM data for optical modules.
Our Mission
We help people extend the life of their hardware and adapt it to new challenges by making firmware and technical knowledge accessible to everyone.
BinPapa brings together engineers, system administrators, and technicians to find the right firmware, share practical experience, and help each other get more from the equipment they already own.
Share knowledge. Extend hardware life. Adapt it to your needs.
What you can do
Browse the catalog, inspect stored identifiers and checksums, compare records, identify a file by SHA-256, and download available BIN, HEX or JSON files.
The community area accepts EEPROM files and equipment reports for moderation. A submission is not automatically publicly approved or hardware-tested.
What a record establishes
A record describes captured bytes and their saved metadata. A matching hash verifies those bytes; neither a hash nor a coding-signature match proves that a file works on your equipment.
Separate individual captures from module models and hardware revisions. Similar names or bytes do not establish interchangeability.
Project status
BinPapa is publicly available at binpapa.com. Everyone can search the full published catalog without an account, and 5 demo EEPROMs are freely downloadable. Sign in to open protected record details. Downloading protected files requires a confirmed email and is limited to 20 unique EEPROMs in any rolling 24-hour period. BIN, HEX and JSON of the same EEPROM count once. Community contributions are reviewed before publication. Research experiments remain a separate future step; no research results are claimed.
