Share an EEPROM or a hardware report
A useful contribution explains where the data came from and what has actually been checked.
1. Prepare the file
Keep a backup of your original read. Submit a supported BIN or HEX file, preserve its known address ranges, and explain whether it is an original capture or a modification. Share only material you are entitled to provide.
Review individual identifiers and remove private information from accompanying logs. Do not describe a partial capture as complete firmware.
2. Describe what you know
Include manufacturer, part number, hardware revision when known, read tool and its version, capture date, memory pages or banks, and your source. Unknown information can remain explicitly unknown.
3. Review validation and duplicates
Use the community area to submit the file, inspect validation and follow its moderation state. An identical SHA-256 can be useful as another capture or test report; it does not require another distinct binary.
Parser acceptance, checksum success and moderator approval are different from a successful hardware test.
4. Make hardware reports reproducible
Identify the exact file, module revision, host and line card, software version, port speed, relevant configuration and date. Record the observed success or failure; describe any partial functionality and supporting observations in the notes.
Do not replace those details with a general claim that a file is compatible with an entire brand.
